Landscape, to me, is more than planting. It is the living skin of our world — the quiet field where ecology, culture, and daily life meet. It holds space for growth, for rest, and for the breath we all need inside the concrete rhythm of the city.
Growing up in Hong Kong, surrounded by towers and density, I have come to value greenery as something deeply necessary. Even the smallest pocket of landscape can soften the hardness of the urban fabric, offering relief to both mind and body.
After studying in the UK for two years, my thinking about landscape has been refreshed and deepened, especially in relation to sustainability.

I learnt to weave memory, ecology, and community into one spatial language, and to treat design as long-term care, not decoration. This was my first formal academic training as a landscape student.
Through this, I learnt to read public space as a vessel of political memory and shifting identity. I also learnt to question whether a historic square can still represent a society as its meanings change across colonial, wartime, and post-colonial periods.
